One more love song and I’ll be… not the least bit surprised
Why is that most songs are about romantic love? Some are about happy relationships, some about breakups, some about confessions of eternal love, and others wishing they had treated someone better. I get that most people can relate to love, and that will in turn help album sales.
That being said, I’m sure there are so many other issues most human beings can relate to. Serious issues like hunger, politicis or death. Or less pressing things like crispy French fries, traffic jams, or perhaps the similarities between your mother-in-law and a turnip. Okay perhaps not too many mothers-in-law would want to sing along to the turnip song I’m currently composing. Still, I’d like to think given the choice people would appreciate variety.
Did your mother-in-law read this? 😀
I don’t have a mother-in-law and I have a sneaking suspicion having this post online isn’t going to help me in that department. Whoops should have thought that through.
Found this interesting. Made me think about the songs I wrote and though they are mostly religious if they have words I only wrote about two songs outright that is love songs. I agree with you though that there is way to many love songs when there is so much other things to sing about, like picking bannanas.
A band that as far as I know haven’t played a love song (and if they did it will be twisted) is the Arrogant Worms. From my native country and native language there is a good variety of non-love songs as well.
Thanks for the post .
Incidentally there is a really famous song about picking bananas called Day-O.
I will check out the Arrogant Worms. What country are you from?
Born South African, but currently living in Canada, probably will be behind the Great Firewall of China next year. That was the song I was refering to when I talked about bananas.
